White & Black came from the same session as Hola Mamasita. Again, Alex and I were being ridiculous on purpose (and ethnically motivated, apparently). The idea was to improvise our vocals. Alex did the white part and ended up talking about my butt for some reason, and I did the black part.
My inspiration came from an old Cadillac commercial that my dad joked about all the time in which this deep voiced black fellow spoke seductively about a black Cadillac with black leather interior. I believe the line was, "black on black on black, three time black." I never actually saw the commercial, but my father repeated that line enough that it was forever burned into my mind.
One day when I was around 16, I was hanging with one of my neighbors Henry (an older portly black gentleman), and I commented on his black Cadillac. He said, "mmhmm, black on black on black, three time black." My fucking mind was blown. My father was the only person I had ever heard that from, so when Henry said it, it not only confirmed the existence of the commercial, but I had standing in front of me a living breathing human being that bought a "three time black" Cadillac as a result of the ad.
